Iruxol Mono 10 g is a topical enzymatic wound care ointment designed to support the removal of necrotic (dead) tissue and improve the healing environment in certain skin wounds. It contains enzymes that act selectively on collagen to gently break down and help remove dead tissue (debridement), enabling the body’s natural wound-healing processes to proceed more effectively.

How It Works

Iruxol Mono works through enzymatic debridement. The collagenase enzyme selectively breaks down the collagen in dead, necrotic tissue without harming healthy granulation tissue. This helps loosen and remove dead tissue, which can act as a barrier to healing, allowing new tissue to form and the wound to close over time. 

Dosage and Directions for Use

  • Cleanse the wound gently with a sterile saline solution

  • Apply a thin layer of ointment (approximately 2 mm thick) directly to the slightly moistened wound surface or to the dressing overlaying the wound

  • Typically applied once daily; in some cases, twice daily may be used if advised by a healthcare professional

  • Cover with an appropriate sterile dressing after application

  • Continue treatment until the wound bed is free of necrotic tissue and healthy granulation tissue is present

  • Follow all instructions on the package insert or as directed by a healthcare professional

  • Adults and adolescents (use in children should only be under medical supervision)

  • Not typically indicated for infants unless directed by a healthcare professional
