  • Sulfa Allergy: DO NOT USE if you have a known allergy to sulfonamides (sulfa drugs).
  • Age Restriction: Do not use on premature infants or newborns under 2 months of age, as it can cause a serious condition called kernicterus (a type of brain damage caused by high bilirubin).
  • G6PD Deficiency: Use with caution if you have this hereditary condition, as it may cause blood-related issues (hemolysis).
